REASON #2 TO DRIVE ELECTRIC: Reducing Your Carbon Footprint

In October of 2012, George leased a Mitsubishi i-MiEV.  He leased it because he couldn’t afford a new car, wasn’t sure about the all-electric technology, and wanted to take the next step toward reducing his carbon footprint. Although the technology took a couple of weeks to get used to, he finds driving a delight. Being retired, George doesn’t have to commute to work, but does travel some 35 miles round trip to Montpelier and back a couple of times a week. With the car going 62 miles on a charge he can easily make it on a little less than half a charge. He plugs it in when he gets home and is ready to go the next morning. Since he installed an AllSun Tracker solar panel , he’s also offsetting his electric use to further reduce his carbon demand.
George says, “For the sake of our children, and probably even us, we need to get off of fossil fuels as fast as possible–what better way to do it?”
